What is the Blade Running Clinic?

A clinic where you put on a running-specific prosthetic leg — a "blade" — and experience the fun of running together with athletes from across Asia.
It takes place in the morning session. First-timers and experienced runners alike are welcome.

Past event: 2024 Kobe Blade Running Clinic

  1. 01

    Support from prosthetists

Certified prosthetists are on hand to help you put on and adjust your blade.

  2. 02

    Individual coaching

Specialist coaches give advice tailored to each runner, so everyone from beginners to experienced runners can enjoy it at their own level.

  3. 03

    Free blade rental

Running blades are available to borrow free of charge on the day — no need to bring your own.

What is the Universal Kakekko Challenge (UKC)?

A race where everyone can enjoy kakekko — running a dash — regardless of race, age, gender, disability or any other background.
In the afternoon session, you'll take on a 50m run under UKC rules.

  1. 01

    Everyone runs together

Age, gender and disability make no difference — everyone runs side by side.

  2. 02

    Your time becomes points

UKC's original score table, adjusted for age and disability, converts your 50m time into points — so you can see how fast you are right now.

  3. 03

Nobody knows the winner until the end

You compete on points, not finishing position, so who comes out on top stays a mystery until the very end.
